DRESSING ABSENCES: THE TEXTILE JOURNEY OF PEDRO PÁRAMO

Daily, Now - May 23, 2026.

The Mexican Cultural Institute presents a unique showcase exploring the creative process behind Netflix's adaptation of Juan Rulfo's iconic novel. This exhibition offers visitors an intimate look into the creative process that brought to life the character of one of México’s most celebrated literary works.

Inspired by Juan Rulfo's seminal novel, this cinematic adaptation reimagines the haunting world of Comala through a carefully crafted visual language. Costume design plays a central role in shaping the film’s atmosphere, reflecting both its historical context and symbolic depth this is all achieved by the award-winning designer Anna Terrazas.

The exhibition includes original garments worn during the filming, highlighting the work of Terrazas, whose designs translate the essence of each character into textiles and color palettes that evoke identity.

Visitors will have the opportunity to closely examine over twenty costumes along with visual references, and materials that reveal the artistic process of the film’s narrative.
