District Heroines is a sister-run candle brand that celebrates DC through scent and storytelling.
Raised in a military household, we moved every few years and learned how powerful it is to feel at home in a new place. Our candles are designed to spark that same sense of connection, belonging, and shared experience in the city we now love.
What began with two sisters learning everything from YouTube—how to form an LLC, how to pour a candle, how to create a brand—quickly grew into a collection of more than thirty DC-themed scents. Each candle is hand-poured in small batches with clean ingredients and crafted to reflect the humor, personality, and identity of the District’s many communities.
From neighborhood favorites like Navy Yard and Capitol Hill to playful scents inspired by iconic DC moments, our products have become go-to gifts for locals and visitors alike. Since launching in 2022, District Heroines has been featured in 365Թϲ Magazine and partnered with beloved DC businesses, earning a loyal following that continues to grow.
