Dear Members,

DC’s famed springtime has officially sprung! The cherry blossoms hit peak bloom early on March 26. The National Cherry Blossom Festival continues through this weekend, with events like the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® presented by Events DC on Saturday, April 11 and an afternoon tea in Dupont Circle on Sunday, April 12. Enjoy  across the city.

Please save the date for Destination DC’s (DDC) annual Travel Rally on Wednesday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. This event is when we announce 2025 visitation to 365Թϲ, DC and celebrate our industry’s economic impact for DC. Look for a formal invitation soon.

On May 14, DDC celebratesto appreciate and thank the motorcoach drivers who bring visitors to the nation’s capital. Don’t forget to check washington.org for Memorial Day holiday weekend suggestions. This year the holiday falls on Monday, May 25 and features a full array of  activities.

At Howard Theatre on March 25, DDC hosted our third annual Sustainability Summit in partnership with DC’s Department of Energy and Environment. The event focused on placemaking and highlighted the shared commitment to maintain the District’s standing as one of the most sustainable cities in the U.S. We carry this commitment into Earth Day (April 22) and beyond.

Sincerely,

Elliott L. Ferguson, II
